We plan lighting around the architecture and landscape before fixtures go in the ground. The goal is to light what matters without making the fixtures themselves the focus.
We bring temporary fixtures to your property after dark. You can see the effect on your own home and landscape before deciding what becomes permanent.
Large trees, stone and grading take real equipment. Finished properties take care. We plan access before work starts and use the most efficient size machine for the work.
We keep the disruption contained. The rest of the property stays usable while we work.
This backyard started as graded dirt. We built the landscape in phases: stone, planting, lawn and lighting.

We started on this property at the end of 2019. The work has come in phases: grading, planting, stone and lighting across the property.
The lighting system alone has grown to more than 150 fixtures. We still service it and we are still adding to it.

James leads design and project development. His job is to understand the property, set the direction and make sure what was discussed is what gets built.
He founded Sunset in 2015 and has led its field work and design ever since.
